Terms of Use

1. Parties and scope

These terms govern the use of the Mütercem platform (mutercem.com and its subdomains, the "Platform") operated by Medimpus Dijital Eğitim Teknolojileri A.Ş. ("Medimpus"). By registering for or using the Platform you accept these terms.

2. The service

Mütercem is an online software service that provides translation, transcription, text recognition from images (OCR and handwriting recognition) and proofreading in scientific modern and ancient languages through portals, each dedicated to a field or language group. The languages and operations of each portal are shown on its page.

Translation and proofreading results are produced with machine translation and artificial intelligence. They are an aid; before any use with consequences (publication, official submission, medical or legal decisions) they should be checked by a qualified person.

3. Account

• Accounts are opened with an e-mail address and password or with a Google account. An academic e-mail address may be required for individual accounts.
• You are responsible for keeping your account details accurate, your password confidential and for all activity under your account.
• Institutional access (universities, libraries, research institutions) depends on the agreement with the institution and its conditions (institutional e-mail, IP range, term).
• You may close your account at any time; closing it does not affect records we are legally required to keep.

4. Credits and pricing

Operations on the Platform are charged in credits. The credit cost of each operation is shown before it starts and deducted when it completes. Credit packages, prices and validity periods are listed on the Pricing page. Purchases are subject to the Distance Sales Agreement and the Delivery and Return Terms. Promotional credits are limited to the stated period and conditions.

5. Your content

You keep all rights to the text, documents and images you upload or paste ("Content"). We process Content only to perform the operation you request, show you the result and keep it in My Documents.

• You confirm that you have the right to process the Content and will not upload content that infringes copyright, confidentiality or data protection law.
• We recommend anonymising special categories of personal data, such as patient information, before uploading.
• The documents, text and images you upload, and your translations, proofreading, transcriptions, My Documents and glossary, belong only to you. Mütercem does not share or publish them and does not use them to train any model. Providers that receive content in order to perform an operation process it only for that operation.

Documents and versions in My Documents are kept by default for 30 days after the last operation on individual accounts and 90 days on institutional accounts, then deleted. Documents you mark "Keep" are exempt; you can delete your documents at any time. Current periods are shown in your dashboard.

6. Acceptable use

• You may not use the Platform for unlawful purposes, in a way that infringes the rights of others or against academic ethics (e.g. presenting someone else's work as your own).
• Sending bulk automated requests, attempting to bypass security measures, sharing your account or opening institutional access to people outside the institution is prohibited.
• We may suspend or close accounts that breach these rules.

7. Intellectual property

The Platform's software, interface, name and logo belong to Medimpus. You are granted a non-transferable, non-exclusive right to use the Platform for personal or institutional purposes under these terms.

8. Limitation of liability

We take reasonable care to provide the Platform without interruption or error; however, to the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect damages arising from maintenance, outages of third-party services, force majeure or the accuracy of machine translation and AI output. Credits for an operation that could not be completed because of a technical error are returned to your account.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. The current text is published on this page and you are informed by e-mail of significant changes. Continuing to use the Platform after a change means you accept the new terms.

10. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Consumer arbitration committees and consumer courts are competent for consumer matters; Istanbul courts and enforcement offices for other disputes. For questions:
