How does Mütercem work?
Upload your text, choose the portal for your field, review and download the result. Credits are used only for completed work.
In six steps
-
Create an account
Sign up with your email or Google account. If your institution uses Mütercem, sign in with institutional access; your credits come from the institution.
-
Choose a portal
Choose a field portal if your text belongs to a scientific field, or a language portal for a specific language or script. In field portals, choosing your department makes terms follow that department's usage.
-
Upload
Paste text or upload Word, PDF or a photo. Scanned pages and manuscripts are read first (OCR); a PDF with a text layer is translated with its layout kept.
-
Start the job
Choose translation, transcription or proofreading. The approximate credit amount is shown before you start; nothing runs until you confirm. Your term glossary is applied if you have one.
-
Review and download
Read the result side by side with the source. In proofreading every change is marked; accept or reject each one. Download as Word, PDF or Word with tracked changes.
-
Keep it in My Documents
Every result is saved to My Documents as a version. The job continues even if you leave the page and appears in the job panel when done. You can continue from any version to create a new one.
Which portal should I choose?
Field translation
Articles, theses and reports in medicine, engineering or the social sciences, with the field's established terminology.
Field proofreading
Spelling, grammar and style correction of your own text. Meaning and terms are kept; the text is not translated.
Language portals
Common academic languages, Turkic languages, Ottoman Turkish, ancient and dead languages. Old scripts are also transcribed.
Specialist portals
Religious and literary texts: period terms, proper names and references are kept with domain knowledge.
Credits are used only for completed work
One credit package works across all portals. The approximate amount is shown before a job starts. No credits are used for an unreadable page or a job that fails; if you cancel a job, only the completed part is charged.
